We Interviewed Brent George - Animation Director & VFX Supervisor

Since 1997, Brent's career has been enriched by many corners of the animation industry. Having spent time in Commercials, Television, Film and more recently Video Games, he has gotten a pretty good taste of what animation has to offer.

During his travels Brent has worked as Animator, CG Supervisor, Producer, VFX Supervisor, Character Technical Director, Animation Director and a countless number of other roles. Most recently, Brent can be found freelancing at local VFX and Game companies, Directing a web-series and/or enthusiastically imparting his knowledge onto the students of Dawson College's 3D Animation and CGI program.

Brent is best known for spearheading highly creative projects by assembling custom tailored teams and designing pipelines from the ground up. After which, he applies his unique flavour of collaboration and leadership in order to deliver high quality results on time and on budget.

We Interviewed Daniel Gonzales - Character Animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios

Daniel Gonzales is a former PIXAR Animation Studios animator who currently works at Walt Disney Studios as a character animator. He has been involved in different 3D animated film projects such as: Wreck-it Ralph, Frozen, Toy Story 3 and soon to be released Big Hero 6.

Born in San Diego, USA; Daniel moved to Oakland for college and finally ended up learning art (and animation) at California College of the Arts. Starting as an intern at PIXAR Animation Studios, Daniel started to work on Toy Story 3 doing promotional pieces.

Finally after 3 years at PIXAR, Daniel had a chance to move to Disney in order to pursue his new opportunities to be work on new and upcoming feature films.

We Interviewed Sandro Cleuzo - Character Animator at DreamWorks Animation Studios

Sandro Cleuzo is a golden age animator, he has been involved in a lot of memorable animated films such as 'Thumbelina', 'Fantasia 2000', "Emperor's New Groove", 'Anastasia', 'Enchanted' and many more.

Sandro was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil.There he discovered his passion and talent for art in a young age. Ever since doing comics and animation, Sandro has kept his passion for art and eventually he started working in a comic book studio as an internship at the age of 14. Later on he moved to work at 'Briquet Films' to do In-Between and cleanup work where he eventually became a staff animator. 4 years later, Sandro moved to Ireland, to work for Don Bluth's Animation Studio.

His 6 years career at Don Bluth let him to work and animate memorable characters, and scenes on world level production animated features. After Don Bluth, Sandro moved between many studios such as: Fox Animation Studios, Disney Animation Studios and Rovio Entertainment.

We Interviewed Victor Chavez - Animator at Bungie Studios

Victor didn't grow up planning to be a Character Animator. He studied Art and Graphic Design at the University of New Mexico before 3D Animation had really started. He then switched his focus to Civil Engineering and Information Technology. He worked on the side to obtain his MCSE certification which led him to eventually work at Microsoft as a Systems Engineer.

After finding himself unemployed after almost 10 years in the IT field, Victor decided to get back into doing something more creative and a friend of his suggested Animation Mentor. Almost two years later, after finishing extensive animation training, Victor started to explore the world of animation and found work at 343 Industries doing gameplay animation on Halo 4.

Victor then moved on to a different game company: Bungie. There, he’s working as a cinematic and gameplay animator on their upcoming title, Destiny.

Jim van der Keyl - Character Animator at Blue Sky Studio and iAnimate.net Instructor

Jim van der Keyl is a golden age animator, he has been involved in a lot of memorable animated films such as ‘The Little Mermaid’, ‘Iron Giant’, ‘Kung Fu Panda’ and more.

Jim was born in Toronto, Canada. Where he discovered his talent for art in a young age. Ever since moving to the United States, Jim has kept his passion for art and eventually enrolled at Boston University, where he received his BFA degree in painting.

Jim began his career in caricaturing and drawing people for a living. His caricaturing books and videos helps him buy materials for his art to this day.

He started his Animation career one day when he found out that, ‘Animation Guid’ was teaching animation in L.A (where he was living at that time). This started his career as an in-betweener in Walt Disney Studios and after several years he moved up to become an animator for top notch animation companies like ‘Warner Brothers’, ‘DreamWorks’, ‘Blue Sky Studio’ and ‘Sony Pictures Imageworks’.
